In the chaos of the rathtar attack, the heros are able to escape on the Millennium Falcon. Rey attempts to help Han by rerouting some of the ship's p Eravana. Han agrees to help them, but his plans are interrupted when the Guavian Death Gang and Kanjiklub arrive to collect money from the smuggler. Rey and Finn reveal to Han BB-8's mission to deliver a map to the Resistance so they can find Luke. While celebrating their victory, the Falcon is captured and boarded by Han Solo and Chewbacca. Some First Order TIEs give chase, but between Rey's flying and Finn's shooting, the TIEs are defeated. Before much more can be said, the First Order attacks Niima Outpost, forcing Ray, Finn, and BB-8 to flee, escaping in the Millennium Falcon. Finn explains that he and Poe are with the Resistance and that they tried to escape the First Order, but Poe did not make it. Rey attacked Finn and asked how he got the Resistance jacket. During the fight, BB-8 noticed Finn wearing Poe's jacket and tells Rey that the jacket was stolen. Soon after, Rey was jumped by a group of Plutt's thugs, but she was able fight them off. When she went to collect portions for her scrap, Unkar Plutt instead offered to purchase BB-8 for 60 portions, but Rey refused. The next day Rey took BB-8 to Niima Outpost. Rey initially tried to push the droid away, but decided to allow it to stay with her for, at least for the night. Rey's routine was interrupted when she released the droid BB-8 from a net owned by a scavenger named Teedo. For at least a decade Rey gathered scraps from old battlefields and sold her loot to merchants like Unkar Plutt. Rey learned to survive on her own in the harsh conditions of her adopted home.
